Art Group Without a Name December 5th, 2019
Oh. I almost forgot to post this one.
We normally have the models for two sessions on Thursdays. This month because of the holiday we only had one session with Lightning. I decided not to paint and to try to draw instead. If nothing else it was FAR easier to transport my supplies.
I haven’t done just a plain ol normal drawing from life in quite a while. I was not feeling well at all that day so it worked out well to have a simpler way to work.
I don’t particularly care for the texture on this particular paper but I did kind of like working on this color. So I may see if there is something else I could try with it in the future.
I asked my Facebook friends what medium I should dig back out and scratchboard was suggested so I am going to see if I can figure out what I did with that stuff and make something fun with that soon.
Anyway…. here is Harold (or Lightning).
I do spend a colossal amount of time making art that I have no plans for. I guess this isn’t the smartest thing to do in some ways…. but I think the sanity it brings me is worth it.
Just saw something that really bugs me about this drawing…. now I need to stop looking at it.
I love the portraits – but you must know that you are your own worst critic. I see no flaw in the drawing of Lightning except for those that make a face interesting!
